Nowadays even adults frequently use chewing gum because it helps them focus better, because they want a fresh breath or just because it is a manner to quit smoking. Beside the well-known disadvantages that chewing gum has (it grows gastric tartness and it enlarges the jaw), we can also mention many advantages in this case.
Chewing gum increases the power of concentration
Chewing gum helps us concentrate better on the duties we have at work and especially on the intellectual activity of our hand. Also, many drivers suggest that chewing gum helps them remain concentrate while driving.
Chewing gum releases tension
Studies made over the benefits of chewing-gum demonstrated that it releases muscular tension and it helps people feel more comfortable in stress conditions. Because it increases the power of concentration, U.S.A armies gave chewing gum to their soldiers during The First World War, and it continues being used nowadays.

Chewing gum, especially the one with mint flavour, helps releasing respiratory ways and breath becomes fresher.
Chewing gum doesn’t fatten
Often, by using chewing gum we can avoid making a light meal and sometimes we refuse having a bite of something because of it. This represents an advantage because each piece of gum contains 10 calories.
It helps prevent dental caries
It isn’t always recommended to brush our teeth between meals. By chewing gum the production of saliva is being stimulated; this helps neutralizing acid food which destroys teeth.
