These tips seem slightly far-fetched. I myself am often shy when it comes to meeting new people, and I don't feel that any of these tips would help me. First of all, I am too young to drink champagne- and even if I weren't, I don't think drinking is the most healthy way to overcome shyness. Second, having a pet seems very unpractical. It would cost more time, money, and energy than it's worth. Besides, how many people do you see taking a pet with them to a party? Third, wearing new shoes or contacts seems a little superficial. While they may make a girl feel better about how she looks, they probably won't make the girl confident enought to suddenly be able to talk to new people. However, I do find the tip about smiling to be helpful and practical. Do you have any other tips for girls who want to meet new people and start new relationships but are shy when it comes to talking to new people?
