What you should know about your career at 25 years
Many young professionals today are unhappy when they are employed for the first time. Usually they can’t be in the position they want because they are too young and they don’t have the experience necessary. In order to have money to pay bills you do a compromise and you accept a job offer which doesn’t suit you, fact you may regret later.
What comes around goes around
Good days and bad days come. This is life. You should take advantage on the good days to grow professionally and you shouldn’t let bad days draw you down. Learn to appreciate people and relationships which make you happy.
Have a long-term thinking about your career
You have many decades left to develop yourself professionally so choose wisely don’t spend many years in a field you don’t enjoy working. If you don’t know what you like, being an intern is a solution to find out what suits you best.
Don’t expect the company to invest in you
One of the most common mistakes people do is to believe that their professional development is only in the employer’s hands. You should also invest in yourself as knowledge follows you wherever you go.
Your connections are very important
The people you know can open many gates for you – no matter how great your CV is, sometimes it isn’t enough. Building such a network needs time, and it isn’t enough to connect only on LinkedIn or through calling cards. Going out to face to face meetings is also recommended. A real relationship will always weight more than a virtual one.
