Create a Separate Workspace Away from your Personal Life
This goes hand in hand with keeping your attention on point: create a physical space apart from your personal life that will mentally alert you to the fact that you are now in a working mode. Whether it is in another part of your house altogether like the empty corner you have in your garage, or a barricaded-off part of your kitchen, find a place away from all the stuff that comes up in everyday life that will take you away from your work. This way, when you go to this area to begin working, you will mentally switch into work mode, which will help you stay focused.
Manage your Time Expertly… or Fail
This does not just include having a start time for every morning, or a regular break in the day to eat lunch. Time management includes knowing when your body tells you to walk away from the computer, and get a breath of fresh air.
